Miss Amanda

Hello families my name is Miss Amanda! I am a Head Teacher in the Caterpillar Room. I began my teaching journey working with children from kindergarten to sixth grade. Working with children has always been a passion of mine, so much so that before I became a teacher, I was a nanny for a five-year-old for two years and it was such a joy to watch him grow. I stepped into the preschool sector and knew that this age was my teaching strength.

I was born and raised in Stockton, the youngest of two girls. I am married to a wonderful man and we have two cats named Minion and Maya. They are very important to me because they offer great comfort and bring me great joy in my life. My hobbies are reading, cooking/baking, hanging out with family and going to the beach with my husband. I’m family oriented and always enjoy being surrounded by family. As for school I am never quite done and see myself as a lifelong learner. My goal is to continue my education in the field of Child Development.

I’ve always wanted to work with children in some way and I found that my child development courses really encouraged me to become a teacher. I was always helping with taking care of my younger cousins and I have always been told that I would make a great teacher of young children. My favorite part about teaching is watching the children grow and learn by exploring the world around them. Children have such a great mind set to see the world in such a positive light that it brightens the classroom around them.

My goal as a teacher is to help all of my students reach their potential. I look forward to building wonderful relationships with each and every one of the families at Miss Nicky’s Preschool. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your children’s preschool experience.
